<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the timing of operating an electrode cleaning means is set so as not to affect a warmup period or which prevents image quality from degrading depending on environmental conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus of an electrophotographic system includes: an electrifying means for electrifying a photoreceptor; a transfer means for transferring a toner image formed on the photoreceptor onto a transfer medium; a separation means for separating a transfer medium with the toner image held thereon from the photoreceptor; a cleaning means for cleaning the means of at least the electrifying means, the transfer means, or the separation means; and a fixing means for fixing the toner image to the transfer medium under heat. The image forming apparatus is provided with a control means for exerting control so that the operation of the cleaning means during the warmup period of the fixing means is prohibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
