PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform marginless printing optimally depending on oblique traveling of a recording sheet.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus for forming a marginless image having no image unrecorded area on a sheet by forming an image recording area to exceed over the entire circumferential edge of the image formable sheet comprises a means for calculating the carrying state of the sheet, and a means for forming the image while enlarging it depending on the carrying state thus calculated. Consequently, the marginless print having no margin can be realized when the sheet is traveling obliquely with a magnification substantially corresponding to a document.
