<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noises resulting from a retainer in a rolling bearing in which rolling elements such as balls and rollers are incorporated between the raceway surfaces of an inner ring and an outer ring and the rolling elements are held by the retainer. <P>SOLUTION: This rolling bearing comprises the inner ring having the raceway surface formed at the outer peripheral part, the outer ring having the raceway surface formed at the inner peripheral part, the plurality of rolling elements incorporated between the raceway surface of the inner ring and the raceway surface of the outer ring, and the retainer holding the rolling elements. Pockets storing the plurality of rolling elements are formed in the retainer, and the pocket edges on the inner peripheral sides of the pockets and the pocket edges on the outer peripheral sides thereof are disposed with their phases shifted in the circumferential direction of the retainer. By this, lubrication oil adhered to the surfaces of the rolling elements becomes less scraped off by the pocket edges, lubricating performance can be increased, a constraint force on the rolling elements by the retainer can be secured, and the noises of the retainer can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
