摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a slip starting timing for a continuously variable transmission and critical clamping force matching input torque. SOLUTION: This control device for the continuously variable transmission sets a torque capacity corresponding to clamping force and sets the critical clamping force for the torque capacity to match the input torque in accordance with a detected slipping condition. It comprises a slip detecting means (Step S106) for detecting slip, a slip starting timing estimating means for estimating the slip starting timing in accordance with an actual shift ratio before the slip is detected by the slip detecting means and an estimated shift ratio, and a clamping force determining means for finding the critical clamping force in accordance with the clamping force at the slip starting timing estimated by the slip starting timing estimating means.
