PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner of a simple constitution by reducing the number of expansion valves and simplifying the control of the expansion valves. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner wherein a compressor 1, a four-way valves 2, an outdoor heat exchanger 3, a thermal storage coil 51, an indoor-side expansion valve 21 and an indoor heat exchanger 31 are connected by refrigerant pipes, and the cooling operation, the ice thermal storage operation, the cooling operation utilizing the ice thermal storage and the heating operation can be performed by driving the compressor, a bridge circuit 40 having at least four check valves 41-44 and a main pipe conduit 45 communicating a set of two check valves among these check valves, is connected between the outdoor heat exchanger 3 and the indoor heat exchanger 31, a liquid receiver 46 and a main expansion valve 47 are connected to the main pipe conduit 45 of the bridge circuit 40 in series, and the refrigerant is allowed to flow successively in the liquid receiver 46 and the main expansion valve 47 connected to the main pipe conduit 45 in either operation of the cooling operation, the ice thermal storage operation, the cooling operation utilizing the ice thermal storage and the heating operation.
