PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting a transmission power of the forward access channel (FACH) from a base station to a mobile user terminal in the network for the mobile telecommunication. SOLUTION: The method comprises a process in which the base station transmits a signal of a first transmission power level to the mobile user terminal, a process in which the mobile user terminal transmits a report of one or more parameter values in accordance with a signal quality measured when a predetermined reporting criterion is met, and a process in which the base station adjusts the transmission power from the base station to the mobile user terminal in consequence so as to maintain the measured signal quality within an acceptable limits.
