PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve extensive cost cutting, miniaturization, and weight saving by simplifying a structure, to improve stability, steerability, and safety in passing the highest position of a stairway, and to resolve feelings of anxiety and fear of an operator. SOLUTION: A crawler mechanism 2 consists of a main crawler mechanism part 2m arranged on the front side and a subsidiary crawler mechanism part 2s arranged on the rear side. Rear pullies 4r (plural number) of the subsidiary crawler mechanism part 2s are configured to be supported vertically displaceably around front pullies 4f (plural number). Front wheels 5f (plural number) in a wheel mechanism 3 are arranged at a position lower than the main crawler mechanism part 2m on a flatland E. Rear wheels 5r (plural number) are provided in the rear end of the subsidiary crawler mechanism part 2s so that they are positioned lower than the subsidiary crawler mechanism part 2s at a position X where the rear pullies 4r (plural number) of the subsidiary crawler mechanism part 2s are lowered.
