PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crop residue chopper for digging up, nipping, pulling out and carrying left stems planted in a field, dropping soil adhered to the root portions of the residual culm, shredding the residual culm, and receiving the shredded residual culm in a receiver. SOLUTION: The crop residue chopper is characterized in that a chute 11e for blowing up left stems shredded with a shredder 11 to charge the shredded residual culm into the flexible container 12d of a shredded residual culm-receiving portion 12 is cylindrical, and the charging angle of the chute is adjustable. A flexible container frame 12b for mounting the flexible container 12d of a shredded residual culm-receiving portion 12 is vertically movably supported. The flexible container frame 12b for mounting the flexible container 12d of the shredded residual culm-receiving portion 12 has supports 12f at two points mutually facing in a horizontal state, and both the positions of the supports 12f can vertically be moved. The flexible container frame 12b is supported in a state capable of being rotated on both the supports 12f as centers. The charging port 11f of the chute 11e is detachably disposed on the flexible container frame 12b for mounting the flexible container 12d of the shredded residual culm-receiving portion 12.
