EXTRACT OF PUERARIA FLOS HAVING ANTI-STRESS EFFECT WHICH IS USEFUL FOR THERAPEUTICS OR HEALTH FOODS FOR PREVENTING STRESS AND IMPROVING STRESS SYMPTOMS

PURPOSE: Provided is the extract of Puerariae Flos having anti-stress effect which decreases the decrease in one's memory and learning ability, increases the activity of choline acetyltransferase(ChaT), and inhibits the activity of tyrosine hydroxylase and the decrease in spleen weight and leukocyte count. Therefore, the extract is useful for therapeutics or health foods for preventing stress and improving stress symptoms. CONSTITUTION: The extract of Puerariae Flos having anti-stress effect is obtained by the steps of: finely grinding Puerariae Flos and adding distilled water, 70% ethanol solution, 50% methanol solution or 40% acetone solution to 500g of the Puerariae Flos powder; extracting it twice at 60 deg.C for 2 hours with a reflux cooler; concentrating the extract by evaporation at 45 deg.C; powdering the concentrate by heating or freeze-drying; fractioning acetone concentrate or powder with methanol and n-hexane to give a methanol fraction; and fractioning the methanol fraction with water and ethylacetate. An anti-stress preparation and a health food for improving stress are characterized by containing the extract of Puerariae Flos.
