<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and image processing method capable of realizing a binarizing image processing with high reproducibility and high reliablility. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor comprises a boundary area extraction part 19, a first vicinity area extraction part 20, and a first vicinity area binarization part 21, in which a first vicinity area including the whole part of a first area 17 and a part of a second area adjacent to the edge part of the first area is extracted, and the density distribution in the first vicinity area is then determined to determine a threshold. Accordingly, even if an imaging condition is momentarily changed, the density distribution in the first vicinity area is never largely changed depending on the difference in the imaging condition. Therefore, the reproducibility and reliability of the threshold for binarizing the first vicinity area can be enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
