<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with which work, such as repair and exchange of image forming elements or jam processing, can be carried out without the need for an operator to worry about the positions or ways that the image forming elements hold. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the image forming elements 12 which are openably and closably and attachably and detachably disposed at a base part 1 of the apparatus, are exposed outside and are undesirable to be touched by hands.
