<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric single crystal device actively utilizing an electromechanical coupling factor k<SB>31</SB>in a direction (transverse vibration mode) orthogonal to a polarization direction. <P>SOLUTION: A normal line 1 of a piezoelectric device end surface lies, when a polarization direction 3 is assumed to be a [001] axis of a pseudo-cubic crystal, within a range of 0 to 15° or 40 to 50° with respect to a direction n perpendicular to a domain structure existent in a crystal plane including [010] and [100] axes orthogonal to the polarization direction 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
