PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyolefin resin for non-crosslinked foam, suitable as a raw material for the foam having a high expansion ratio and a uniform cell structure; and to provide the foam produced by using the polyolefin resin, having the high expansion ratio and the uniform cell structure, and also having excellent recyclability. SOLUTION: The polyolefin resin for the foam comprises a polyolefin resin modified by an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an acid anhydride thereof as essential component, and has specific characteristics of the following formula (1) or the like: formula (1): 0.5<MA<1.1 (wherein, MA is the average number of the unsaturated carboxylic acid or the acid anhydride thereof, grafted on one molecular chain of the polyolefin resin for the foam).
