PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set document information in an information management device for managing an image and its document information. SOLUTION: The information management device provided with an information management means for managing an image inputted to the information management device and/or an image generated in the information management device and its document information is provided with a form setting means for setting a form for determining an area position in the image to be recognized as a character and its area name and a character recognition execution means for executing the character recognition of the area corresponding to the area position in the image as a target to be recognized. The information management means stores the character information recognized by the character recognition of the area corresponding to the position in the image as a character recognition target in an item of an item name corresponding to the area name of the area and manages the character information as document information.
