PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a high-voltage circuit in an FED(Field Emission Display). SOLUTION: This display device is, for example, equipped with a high-voltage generating circuit, a field emission display panel wherein voltage is supplied from the high-voltage generating circuit, data drivers which supply display data to the field emission display panel and a current detecting circuit which detects current flowing from the high-voltage generating circuit to the panel and the display device is constituted so as to control the amplitude of outputs of the data drivers which are supplied to the panel by a current value detected in the current detecting circuit.
