PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having high density and excellent in image preservability under photoirradiation and silver tone and an image forming method, and to optionally provide a heat developable photosensitive material excellent further in image preservability in high temperature storage or in film conveyability and environmental suitability and an image forming method. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material including an image forming layer containing an organic silver salt, a silver halide, a binder and a reducing agent on a support, at least two different couplers selected from yellow, magenta and cyan couplers are contained in a layer constituting the heat developable photosensitive material and the reducing agent contains a compound represented by formula (1).
