PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter capable of easily and certainly separating and removing unnecessary components, and a blood component separator equipped with the filter and excellent in operation. SOLUTION: The filter 1 has a housing 2 equipped with a plurality of ports 21, 22, 23, a first filter medium accommodated in the housing 2 and a second filter medium 32 different from the first filter medium in object materials to be caught. The inside of the housing 2 is partitioned into three spaces of a first space 24 outside the first filter medium 31, a second space 25 between the first filter medium 31 and the second filter medium 32 and a third space 26 outside the second filter medium 32, and the first space 24 is communicated to the first port 21, the second space 25 to the second port 22 and the third space 26 to the third port 23 respectively.
