PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new useful microorganism for promoting the growth of hydrophytes, and to promote a method for utilizing the useful microorganism, by which the growth of hydrophytes including the new useful microorganism can be promoted. SOLUTION: This new useful microorganism, Thalassobacter plantas, having a function for promoting the growth of the hydrophytes. A hydrophytes-growing apparatus is characterized by having an adhesion substrate on which the useful microorganism having the function for promoting the growth of the hydrophytes is coated or stuck. The hydrophytes-growing apparatus can promote the growth of the hydrophytes and can further rapidly and efficiently build a seaweed bed. Therefore, the hydrophytes-growing apparatuses can not only provide places for growing fishes and shellfishes and spawning places but also improve aquatic environments. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
