PURPOSE: A system and a method for processing images having shift/zoom functions, a projector, and an information recording medium are provided to project the image by efficiently using a projection object area of a projection object such as a screen, and perform projection correctly at a high-speed. CONSTITUTION: A calibration image information generator(170) generates image information for displaying a calibration image. An image projecting tool(190) includes an image controller(195) and a lens shifter(196), and projects the calibration image. An image picturing tool(180) generates pictured image information by picturing an area including the projected calibration image and a projection object area. A projection area information generator(150) generates projection area information. A projection object area information generator(140) generates projection object area information. A projection controller(130) controls the image angle controller and the lens shift based on the projection area information and the projection object area information.
