<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector using an SCR system where an optical modulation element is easily controlled, which does not cause the color slurring or blotting of projected light and whose color reproducibility is high. <P>SOLUTION: The projector uses a cylindrical filter where strip-shaped red, blue and green optical filters are successively arrayed along circumference on the surface of a cylinder as color separation structure. By rotating the cylindrical filter, light from a light source is successively spectrally split to red, blue and green light and the rectangular color light is radiated to the optical modulation element, whereby a color image is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
