<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reservation apparatus capable of discriminating whether or not partial duplication is caused between a plurality of reservation time zones in a short period of time and discriminating whether or not one of two reservation time zones is included in the other in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 52 particularizes the midpoint time coefficient MTn and the half time coefficientΔN of a new video recording time zone and particularizes the midpoint time coefficient MTr and the half time coefficientΔR of a registered video recording time zone. When a duplication inhibit mode is selected, the CPU 52 compares a difference time coefficientΔRN being a difference between the midpoint time coefficients MTn and MTr with the sum of the half time coefficientsΔR andΔN. When the result of comparison indicatesΔRN≥ΔR+ΔN, the CPU 52 regards that no duplication is caused between the new video recording time zone and the registered video recording time zone and registers new reservation setting information, and the midpoint time coefficient MTn and the half time coefficientΔN to a reservation table 52t.
