<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device in which a dark line of an irradiation face can be eliminated and in which its appearance can be improved. <P>SOLUTION: This surface light source device is provided with a flat-shaped light guide plate 1, a frame 6 to retain the flat-shaped light guide plate 1, a plurality of LEDs 3 arranged and installed along a light incident face side end part of the light guide plate 1, a prism sheet arranged and installed at a light emitting side of the light guide plate 1, and a reflecting member (frame) installed at a face opposed to the light incident face of the light guide plate 1, and the flat-shaped light source device in which light incident from the light incident face of the light guide plate 1 is formed so as to be reflected on the face opposed to the light incident face and the reflecting member (frame) and return to the light incident face side, a recess 6c to house the LED 3 in the frame 6 is formed, and a gap S between the side face of the light emitting side of the LED 3 and the end face of the recess 6c is regulated to be 0.01 mm or more and less than 0.80 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
