ID CARD, ID CARD CHECKING DEVICE AND ID CARD ISSUING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve present protection technique against the alteration or forgery of an ID card.

SOLUTION: This ID card has at least a face photograph, ID information and a digital watermark corresponding to the ID information formed on the surface and also incorporated IC memory storing the ID information. The digital watermark bearing the ID information is overlapped on the face photograph printed on the surface of the ID card. The conventional card depends on the reference to an ID number printed on the ID card and an ID number stored in an IC chip for establishing validity of the ID card and therefore, is not sufficiently protected against forgery and alteration. The card of the present invention is free from the problem of the conventional ID card as described above.
