<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photovoltaic device that suppresses recombination loss after the light absorbing amount of the device is secured. <P>SOLUTION: The first embodiment is a back electrode-type photovoltaic device formed on a semiconductor substrate. The device has the light receiving surface and backside corresponding to both surfaces of the semiconductor substrate, and is provided with positive and negative electrodes and carrier polarizing layers respectively electrically connected to the electrodes on the backside. The device is also provided with at least a pair of positive and negative carrier polarizing layers on the light receiving surface side, and connecting electrodes. The connecting electrodes respectively electrically connect the carrier polarizing layers of identical polarities provided on the light receiving surface side and backside to each other, and are extended in the thickness direction of the device. The second embodiment is a photovoltaic element formed on a semiconductor substrate. This device has the first and second surfaces corresponding to both surfaces of the substrate, and is provided with positive and negative electrodes and carrier polarizing layers respectively electrically connected to the electrodes on the first and second surface sides. This device is also provided with connecting electrodes which respectively electrically connect the carrier polarizing layers of identical polarities provided on the first and second surfaces sides to each other and are extended in the thickness direction of the device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
