<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor capable of preventing confidential information from being illegally used by preventing data from being decrypted by an external device even though the data is leaked. <P>SOLUTION: An encryption key management part 17, which is provided with a memory 17a storing the manufacturer's serial number, for example, as information relating to a compound machine 1, inputs an encryption key generated on the basis of the manufacturer's serial number to a data processing part 16 according to an instruction from a control part 10. An encrypting part 16a of the data processing part 16 applies encryption processing based on the encryption key inputted from the encryption key management part 17 to image data read by a scanner part 14 and data received from the outside by a communication part 15.
