PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the rear actuation distance of an optical lens having a retaining member that can easily determine the rear actuation distance of the optical lens having the retaining member and can determine the rear actuation distance quickly even if the rear actuation distance is determined also for a plurality of optical lenses having the retaining member. SOLUTION: A reference stand 3 having a reference base surface 31 and a through hole 32 for enabling an optical lens 1 to face are prepared. An optical lens A having a lens frame is arranged on the reference stand 3 while bringing a reference surface 21 of the lens frame 2 into contact with the reference base surface 31 and allowing the optical lens 1 to face the through hole 32. Lens optical axis parallel light L impinges on the optical lens 1 and is radiated from the through hole 32. The position of a condensation point P of the emission light is measured, and the rear actuation distance D is determined, based on the position of the condensation point P, and that of the reference base surface 31.
