PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a nut to be taken out without damaging an embryo and thin skin in a device for peeling the hulls of beans. SOLUTION: The device comprises a cylindrical rotary drum, rotary blades arranged in the drum and for peeling the hull of the bean by pushing the bean to the wall of the drum, and a means for discharging the broken hull. An elastic protection layer is installed in the inside of the rotary drum. The tip part of each blade of the rotary blades is formed out of a rubbery elastic body, and is tilted rearward. The rotary blade is regulated so that the rotary blade may be rotated in the same direction as the rotary drum at a speed faster than than that of the rotary drum. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
