QUARTZ GLASS LAMP TUBE AND LASER EXCITATION/AMPLIFICATION UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quartz glass lamp tube capable of giving a uniform illuminance distribution and solving unevenness of irradiation energy without shortening a lifetime and capable of being used as a lamp tube for e.g. YAG laser excitation/amplification xenon flash lamps, krypton arc lamps, xenon excimer lamps, and ultraviolet lamps and to provide a laser excitation/amplification unit using the quartz glass lamp tube. SOLUTION: The quartz glass tube used as a lamp tube has fine microcrack-free irregularities formed by treatment with a chemical containing hydrofluoric acid on the entire inside and/or outside surfaces of the quartz glass tube. The surface roughness of the fine irregularities are such that Ra value is 0.5 to 5.0μm and the Rmax value is 1.0 to 20μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
