PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stationary blade segment not susceptible to wear caused by operation of a gas turbine engine in a stationary blade segment used for a gas turbine engine, and to provide a gas turbine engine using the stationary blade segment. SOLUTION: In the stationary blade segment 47A used for the gas turbine 1, green compound, which is formed by compression molding of metallic powder, powder of metallic compound, or powder of ceramics, functions as an electrode to generate pulse-form electric discharge between the electrode and the stationary blade segment 47A in working fluid or in the air. By the discharge energy, coating made of electrode material or substance made of the electric material reacted by the discharge energy is formed on parts 55, 57, 59, 61, 65 that may be worn away when the stationary blade segment 47A is assembled with the gas turbine engine 1 and the gas turbine engine 1 is operated.
