A textile construction comprises a coating support made of a number of warp threads consisting of multi-filament yarns, which are woven with a number of weft threads also consisting of multi-filament yarns. The coating support of the textile construction is coated on both sides with a synthetic substance. The ratio of the maximum coating thickness to the minimum coating thickness, for a coating thickness above the coating support, ranges from 0.15 mm to less than or equal to 3.1. The maximum coating thickness d.. corresponds to the distance between curves of a weft thread raising from the planar coating surface of the textile construction. The minimum coating thickness min is equal to the distance between curves of the weft thread extending below the planar coating surface of the textile construction. The starting point of these coating thicknesses is the peak of the raised curve or the lowest point of the downward-extending curve of the respectively considered weft thread. The multi-filament yarn has a non-circular cross-section.
