PURPOSE: An illuminating shelf is provided to illuminate foods stored on the shelf according to desire of a user. CONSTITUTION: A shelf(10) includes two housings(11,12) having a tempered glass(13) therebetween. The housings include a pair of separate housing bodies(15) and another pair of adjacent housing bodies(14). The housing bodies slidably receive side edges of the tempered glass. Inner elements(45) form brackets at a wall for maintaining the shelf, having holes through clips for fixing the housing body. An LED(Light Emitting Diode) generates light through a free end of the edges of the tempered glass. The shelf is moved up and down for selectively and appropriately illuminating the inside of a refrigerator.
