PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution method of map data which can reduce unnecessary communication charges. SOLUTION: At the time of performing the distributing of map information data along a recommendation route 54 which connects from the present location 52 to a destination 53, a user specifies that a map from the present location 52 to a course place 56 is unnecessary using an on-vehicle machine. In an information distribution center, a cut-out range about a range from the course place 56 to the destination 56 is established and map information data in areas of the cut-out range 57 is distributed to the on-vehicle machine.
