PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve crime preventing performance, by providing a crime preventing thumb-turn capable of checking illicit unlocking by rotating a thumb-turn by hooking an inserted wire and a bar on the thumb-turn. SOLUTION: This crime preventing thumb-turn unit C is constituted so that a locking bolt in a lock box A is installed in an advancing-retreating door 1 by locking-unlocking operation of a cylinder lock 3 from the outdoor side. This crime preventing thumb-turn unit C is provided with a thumb-turn box 11 installed on the indoor side of the door 1, an operation member 19 having a key-shaped inserting part 19b, a thumb-turn core 21 turnably arranged in the thumb-turn box 11, inputting operation force by connecting the tip 21a to the lock box A, and having an engaging hole 23 for relatively nonrotatably inserting the inserting part 19b of the operation member 19 into the base end 21b, and a key guide 27 appearing on a surface of the thumb-turn box 11, freely idly rotating by being coaxially arranged with the thumb-turn core 21, and having a key hole 31 for penetrating the inserting part 19b of the operation member 19.
