PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handsaw useful for precise work such as the cutting of a necessary depth or the like. SOLUTION: In the handsaw 11 having a back plate 13 for supporting a saw blade 14, an opening part 15, through which the saw blade 14 goes in and out, is formed to the upper end edge of the back plate 13 and the position of the saw blade 14 held to the back plate 13 with respect to the back plate 13 in an up and down direction can be altered.
