PURPOSE: An optical fiber unit laying system having a buckling displacement threshold controller and a laying method using the same are provided to stop timely a laying process by setting buckling displacement threshold values according to kinds of optical fiber units. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber unit laying system includes an optical fiber unit supply device(100), a blowing head(105), a gas supply device(115), a buckling sensor(120), and a control device(135). The blowing head includes an entrance for receiving an optical fiber unit and an exit for outputting the optical fiber unit. The gas supply device is used for injecting a laying gas having predetermined pressure into the blowing head. the buckling sensor is installed between the entrance and the exit of the blowing head to sense buckling displacement. The control device stops a laying process by interrupting an operation for supplying the optical fiber unit when the measured bucking displacement corresponds to the predetermined threshold value.
