PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a coaxial cable that when a terminal part like a joint part outdoors gets wet by rain water, the water permeates inside the coaxial cable by a capillary phenomenon of a braid, resulting in change of high-frequency impedance between a grounding of the braid and a core wire, increase of transmission loss of a high-frequency signal, corrosion of the braid part, and it becomes necessary to change the braid part for maintaining performance thereof, and to cover a whole part of the coaxial cable including the terminal part by a waterproof tube.
SOLUTION: The cable having at least one or more layers of a braided structure at the inside surrounded by a covering sheath, is turned into a waterproof cable by filling the braided part with a water-repellent material like vegetable wax. The waterproof cable is manufactured by preheating a terminal part of the braided part, and making the vegetable wax melted by heating permeate in the braided part by utilizing the capillary phenomenon.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
