PURPOSE: An airbag device for protecting knees is provided to improve the impact efficiency and to reduce the production cost by simplifying the number of components and to improve the driver's convenience by minimizing a necessary space for an installation and an operation. CONSTITUTION: An airbag case(12) is installed inside a lower shroud of a steering column(2). An inflator(14) supplies gas to the airbag case through a signal of an impact sensor by installing in a steering column shaft. An airbag for protecting knees(10) is unfolded toward a direction corresponding to driver's knees through the gas from the inflator by storing inside the airbag case. A tube for supplying the gas(18) connects the inflator with the airbag case. Thereby, the efficiency to protect the driver's knees is improved.
