PURPOSE: An apparatus for discharging cool air and a method for discharging cool air are provided to maximize effective internal volume by removing a control box from a refrigerating compartment, and minimize a noise of a refrigerator by smoothly discharging cool air. CONSTITUTION: A temperature setup device(700) sets up an appropriate range of a refrigerating compartment temperature. A temperature sensor(800) measures a temperature of a refrigerating compartment. If the measured temperature of the refrigerating compartment is more than a set temperature range, a damper formed at one side of a wall surface between a freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment is opened, and a fan is driven so that cool air of the freezer compartment is discharged into the refrigerating compartment.
