<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely overcome the occurrence of an abnormal positive pressure in discharging water to securely prevent troubles due to the positive pressure, in a lateral junction pipe capable of being used for connection of mutual lateral main pipes or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The lateral junction pipe has a straight main pipe section 2, a branch pipe section 3 provided with a second pipe axis P2 diagonally crossing a pipe axis P1 in plan view having the pipe axis P1 of the main pipe section 2 set horizontally and provided on the side face of the main pipe section 2, and a horizontal pipe section 4 provided with a third pipe axis P3 crossing the second pipe axis P2 of the branch pipe section 3 in plan view.
