<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive photoelectric conversion element with excellent conversion efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: This photoelectric conversion element uses oxide semiconductor fine particles sensitized by a methine-based dye expressed by formula (1). In formula (1), Ar is an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or a heterocyclic ring that may have a substituted group; A<SB>1</SB>and A<SB>2</SB>are each independently an aromatic hydrocarbon residue that may have a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a halogen atom or a substituted group, an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue that may have a substituted group, or a heterocyclic residue that may have a substituted group; X is an aromatic hydrocarbon residue that may have a substituted group, a heterocyclic residue that man have a substituted group or an organic metal complex residue that may have a substituted group; and n is an integer of 1 to 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
