<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split winding secondary coil for an ignition coil which has no leakage caused by insulation defects and can be provided at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The split winding secondary coil 2 for an ignition coil comprises a tubular shaft 11 around the periphery of which a secondary electric wire w is wound, and an intermediate collar 12. The intermediate collar 12 is located on the periphery of the tubular shaft 11, has a passage groove 13 formed from the periphery toward inside to allow the secondary electric wire w to pass through, and divides the secondary electric wire w wound around the periphery of the tubular shaft 11 into front and back winding layers A and B in the axial direction. The secondary coil 2 is concentrically fit outside a primary coil 1 with the linear portion 4 of a closed magnetic circuit iron core passing inside, and housed in an insulation case 6 together with the closed magnetic circuit iron core and the primary coil 1. The secondary coil 2 is buried and fixed inside the solidified layer 7 of insulation resin cast inside the insulation case 6. On both sides in the axial direction of the intermediate collar 12, thick portions 14 are formed which keep a distance in the axial direction between the front and back winding layers A and B axially divided by the intermediate collar 12 wider than the thickness of the intermediate collar 12 in the passage groove 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
