摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable proper retard of ignition timing in occurrence of knocking in a transient region such as sudden acceleration and to prevent degradation of driveability caused by a too much retard amount. SOLUTION: An ignition timing control device for an engine sets the ignition timing depending on engine load, and retards the ignition timing if knocking has been detected. The ignition timing control device has a retard correction means for calculating an engine load change amount from the engine load amount and comparing and determining the calculated engine load change amount with a set change amount, correcting the ignition timing to retard by a first retard correction amount when it is determined that the engine load change amount is smaller than the set change amount, and correcting the ignition timing to retard by a second retard correction amount smaller than the first retard correction amount when it is determined that the engine load change amount is the set change amount or larger.
