PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect abnormality such as disconnection or short-circuiting without complicating the circuit configuration. SOLUTION: An elastic wave detecting device is provided with a plurality of sensor pairs (50) for receiving the output from a common power source (11) through output common impedance (12), oscillating an elastic wave and receiving the oscillated elastic waves. The elastic wave detecting device is provided with an abnormality detecting part (73) for making two sensor pairs (50) oscillate simultaneously in an abnormality detection mode and detecting the abnormality of the sensor pairs (50) from the amplitude of a reception signal obtained by the sensor pairs (50) which receive the elastic waves oscillated by the two sensor pairs (50). Further, the device is provided with a reference selecting part (7a) for selecting a reference sensor pair (50). When the amplitude of the received signal of the reference sensor pair (50) is almost equal to amplitude in normal measurement, disconnection of one side wiring of the other sensor pair (50) that simultaneously performs oscillation is identified. In addition, when the amplitude of the received signal of a reference transmitting/receiving part (50) is almost half or below the half of the amplitude in normal measurement, short circuit of the one side wiring of the other sensor pair (50) that simultaneously performs oscillation is identified.
