PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for easily setting a binarization parameter(threshold) for printing only a required image. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a density sample whose density changes from one side to the other side, and the density sample is read, and further the binarized data of the density sample are acquired and printed by changing a threshold for binarization for each area. Furthermore, the multilevel data of the density sample and an adjustment original are printed, and the threshold to be set is determined based on the respective printed matters of the binarized data of the density sample and the density sample and the adjustment original. The determined threshold is set and inputted (ST12), and an adjustment image for printing only a required input is read (ST14), and the read adjustment original is binarized based on the set threshold (ST15), and the binarized data are printed (ST16).
