Apparatus for transferring fluid from one container such as a barge G to another, comprises an inner rigid conduit section B supported by a riser 20 on a dock D and an outer section C connectable to a conduit F of the barge. The section B is pivotable about vertical and horizontal axes while the section C is pivotable about a parallel horizontal axis independently of the movement and position of the conduit B. A sheave 70 concentric with the axis of the section C is fast on said section and a sheave 76a pivotable about the parallel horizontal axis is connected thereto by cables 72a, 74a deadended on both sheaves and having two fluid motors 94, 95 interposed therein. Actuation of the motors adjusts the relative positions of the sections B, C. A counter weight 90 is provided and other means of actuating the section C are described including hand-operated winches and fluid motors mounted on the apparatus mounting. A post and a second winch may be provided to luff the section B.</p> |
