PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator, in which a prevention from a drying at the top end of a nozzle during the time between an application and the next application is performed in a compact dry preventing chamber to enable a continuous uniform application. SOLUTION: In the applicator in which a nozzle discharging a coating liquid moves relatively for an applying stage holding a workpiece moves and feeds said coating liquid to the workpiece fixed to the applying stage to form a drawing pattern or a liquid film, at a position of the nozzle in readiness after applying until the next applying, in order to prevent the top end of the nozzle from drying, the dry preventing chamber is provided, in which the nozzle can be inserted, the top end of the nozzle can be sealed, and a main solvent of the coating liquid can be filled, and which excites a supersonic wave for the main solvent and atomizes to make the mist-like main solvent attached to the top end of the nozzle and to prevent the solvent from the drying.
