PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water pollution of a river, a sea, or the like, due to confluent sewerage waste water. SOLUTION: A pollution separating apparatus 1 is installed on the downstream side of a confluent sewerage and further a clarifying apparatus 2 is installed on the downstream side of the pollution separating apparatus 1. In the pollution separating apparatus 1, waste water from the confluent sewerage is separated to sewage water containing more pollutants and treated water containing less pollutants. The treated water (final effluent) which is separated in the pollution separating apparatus 1 and contains the less pollutants is clarified in the clarifying apparatus 2 to reduce BOD (biological oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand), or the like, and then is discharged to the river, the sea, or the like.
