摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymeric material useful for an electrode for use in a secondary battery having high speed response and high energy density, having high stability, and useful for a catalyst capable of reacting at high efficiency. SOLUTION: This new polyaniline derivative is represented by following formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each an aliphatic hydrocarbon group which may have the same or different substituent, an aromatic hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, or a halogen atom, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>and/or R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>may form a ring through linkage, R<SP>5</SP>is an aromatic hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, and n is an integer of 2-5,000 showing a degree of polymerization).
