PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic solvent-soluble platy silica fine particle and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Powder of the silica fine particle is the organic solvent-soluble silica fine particle produced according to the method for production by a hydrolysis condensation polymerization reaction of a tetraalkoxysilane in water in which a cationic surfactant is present and termination of the reaction with a monofunctional hydrolyzable organosilane compound and passing a filter having 0.2μm pore diameter.
