PURPOSE: A composition of chewing gum containing a component of green tea leaf is provided, which composition has useful functions of green tea leaf such as anti-microbial activity, anti-oxidative activity and anti-cancer activity. CONSTITUTION: The composition of chewing gum comprises 0.1 to 5.0 wt.% of polyphenol from green tea leaf, 15.0 to 45.0 wt.% of gum base, 20.0 to 60.0 wt.% of sugar, 1.0 to 10.0 wt.% of fruit juice extract, 0.1 to 1.0 wt.% of softener, 0.1 to 1.0 wt.% of a hydrating agent, 0.1 to 1.0 wt.% of an emulsifying agent, 0.5 to 5.0 wt.% of aromatic essence, and 0.01 to 0.1 wt.% of natural pigments, wherein the polyphenol is obtained from green tea leaf by adding water into green tea leaf and heating them for 15 minutes to 2 hours, removing the powder of green tea leaf from the mixture solution, cooling the mixture solution to remove the precipitates, heating the extract of green tea leaf at 60 to 110 deg. C, and drying the extract of green tea leaf.
